Company’s Executive Management Team for Solar Technology Platform Model Now Set
OAKLAND, Calif. – Sungevity, Inc., a technology company whose platform enables the sale and installation of solar energy systems to residential and commercial customers in the United States and internationally, today announced the appointment of Drew Hamer to the role of Chief Financial Officer, reporting to Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Birch. Mr. Hamer’s appointment cements Sungevity’s build-out of its executive management team to lead the company’s platform strategy and next phase of growth.
Mr. Hamer has held several senior positions with both public and privately held software technology companies over his 25-year career, and joins Sungevity from ON24, a highly valued SaaS-based marketing platform, where he served as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to that, Mr. Hamer was Chief Financial Officer of Keynote Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: KEYN), a publicly traded Internet monitoring business.
“Drew is an experienced financial executive with a proven track record of success in scaling fast-growing, private and public technology-driven businesses,” said Birch. “His addition to our executive management team rounds out our world-class technology, operations and financial leadership expertise as we leverage our unique, asset-light, platform model to drive the next phase of the global solar adoption curve.”
“I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to advance a well-positioned and disruptive technology-driven business model in a segment that is itself, already a compelling and disruptive force for fundamental change in the global energy market,” said Mr. Hamer. “I’m very impressed with the company’s leadership and I’m excited to join the team.”
Sungevity Platform Executives
With the addition of Mr. Hamer as CFO and Elizabeth Rushforth, Sungevity’s recently appointed General Counsel, Mr. Birch has assembled a world-class stable of executives with deep platform technology, operations, legal and financial acumen to drive superior and sustainable value for all the company’s stakeholders.
Over the past 24 months, the company added to its existing executive management team, hiring Peter Graf to oversee the company’s technology platform, Jan Slaghekke to manage Sungevity’s international business and Gideon “Cayce” Roy to lead U.S. operations. Graf, Sungevity’s Chief Product Officer, oversees Sungevity’s technology team and joined the company in late 2014 from SAP, one of the world’s leading enterprise software companies. Slaghekke, Sungevity’s Chief Global Officer, manages the company’s business activities and strategic relationships in key markets outside of the U.S. and also joined the company in late-2014, most recently from global energy company, BP p.l.c. Roy, Sungevity’s Chief Operating Officer, leads Sungevity’s U.S. operations and joined the company in July of this year. Mr. Roy’s career includes seven years (2000-2007) at leading online retailer, Amazon.com, where he held a number of executive roles, including heading the company’s merchant /marketplace services, fulfillment and transportation organizations.
